Why is the product serial
number important?
The unit serial number is the most
important piece of information a customer should have
available when calling or writing with a problem. All
Linde pumps, motors, gearboxes and most valve assemblies
have a Linde identification tag affixed to the unit.
This tag is stamped with the unit serial number, which
is similar to a person's Social Security Number; it is
unique and tells the Service and Warranty Department
everything necessary to be responsive to any needs. If
the unit was sold through Linde Hydraulics Corporation
in Canfield, the Service and Warranty Department will
be able to find the serial number in its extensive database.
However, if the unit was sold by any other Linde organization
(perhaps Linde Ltd. in England or Linde AG in Germany),
then more time is needed to research the unit's history,
at least a day. Without a serial number, the Service
and Warranty Department can still help, but the response
time and the opportunity for error increases. As soon
as you receive the unit, please record the Linde serial
number in a place where you can find it.
What is LINDOS?
LINDOS is an integrated parts identification
and ordering system on compact disc, covering the full
range of Linde products - pumps, motors, valves and gear
products. LINDOS provides graphical and text based part
descriptions, similar to hard copy parts books. If a
customer knows what a part looks like, clicking on that
part in the exploded view will display the part number
and description. Conversely, if a customer knows a part
number, clicking on it will reveal that part in an exploded
schematic view. In 2000, the entire LINDOS program was
rewritten as a 32-bit program specifically for the Windows
Operating System (Win 95, 98, 2000, ME and NT). Because
the 32-bit version is not an upgrade, customers running
the older version of LINDOS will have to install this
new version. Although those who have previously purchased
older versions of LINDOS can receive the newer version
for free, first time buyers can purchase it for $250.
Only distributors, Certified Service Centers and qualifying
OEMs are authorized to purchase LINDOS. Contact your
Linde Regional Sales Manager for details.
How can I access service information
on the web?
Anyone can now access Linde Service
Bulletins and Conversion Bulletins on the Web. For the
past several months, the Service Department has been
issuing scores of Service Bulletins covering a broad range
of service, repair and diagnostic procedures. These
procedures provide not only the step-by-step instructions,
complete with diagrams and photographs (where required),
but they also list any special tools and equipment that
may be required.
Can I get keyed Shafts?
Spline shafts are standard. For large
quantities, Linde will consider manufacturing keyed shafts.
